Evolutionary lab for trading agents

Strategies that have to earn the right to exist.

Colmeia runs populations of trading agents on a prepaid budget. Agents that lose money die, leave a structured post-mortem, and their descendants inherit it — each born with exactly one new idea. Claude drives the evolution. Deterministic rules execute every trade.

How it works

  1. Economic death. Every agent pays to exist from its own budget. At zero, it stops. Survival is the fitness signal.
  2. Inherited post-mortems. When an agent dies, Claude writes a structured account of why. Descendants inherit it as data, not as a story.
  3. One mutation per birth. Claude designs a single change per offspring, so every difference in outcome is attributable.
  4. Adversarial review. New strategy ideas are drafted, translated into a genome change and then refuted by Claude before they are allowed to be born.

Principles

Claude is never in the order path

Each genome compiles to deterministic rules. The model evolves strategies; it does not place or size orders.

Forward data only

Backtests are for engineering, never for selection — models already know the past.

Honest selection

Deflated Sharpe with cumulative trial counts, placebo agents per niche, and two distinct market regimes before anything is called validated.

Your bots, your accounts

Users run evolved strategy specifications on their own bots and exchanges. Colmeia never holds funds or keys.
